This two-day hands-on workshop focuses on creating large-scale wheel-thrown pottery through sectional building, refined form development, and advanced construction techniques. Students will work closely with potter Brendan Kelley to plan, throw, and assemble large forms while exploring strategies for design, proportion, and functionality.

Experience: Participants must have recent experience in wheel throwing, as this is not a beginner-level class. **MUST BE ABLE TO THROW 5 LBS SUCCESSFULLY! Students will be working in sections to throw a 25 pound pot!

Brendan Kelley is a ceramic artist based in Madison, Wisconsin. At its core, his work focuses on functionality and the ability to intertwine art and a bond with his viewer in a society where connection can feel fleeting. He believes there is great value in interacting daily with functional art as the connection moves between a piece and its maker and holder. Brendan centers his work in this intention--accessibility to forms that express intrinsic emotion through their aesthetic.
